Staying Focused

I love Hot Yoga. I am not a yogi per se, but I do my best. I go to Hotworx once a week and sweat in the sauna while tuning into my yoga poses. One thing that stuck out to me today as I lost my balance in the half-moon pose was this… The instructor told me to find something to focus on. Something so simple prevented me from tumbling out of my pose.  When you gaze at something that is not moving, it will help you balance. Ah-hah! Focus improves balance! Yes - as soon as I directed my gaze to the little spot on the sauna floor, I steadied. Let me tell you - this will preach.

Life is the same way. There are so many things and noises that consume our day. But if you keep focused, you will stay balanced. Keep your eye on the prize. Is it a business that you want to thrive? Don’t get distracted or discouraged because your expenses are now more than your revenue during the start-up phase. Stay focused. Continue to track, develop, implement, and innovate. Are you having issues with your boss at work? Stay focused - this is a stepping stone to the next level in your career. Are you struggling in your weight loss efforts - don’t lose sight of the seemingly “small” goals that you are working towards every single day. Whether it’s drinking 8 glasses of water or meditating for 2 minutes each morning, stay focused. You will reach your goals, and you will find your balance, but to do so, ignore the noise and find your focus.
